My limbs are beautiful. They do not deserve to be laughed at or made fun of. They are worthy of love, compassion, and acceptance.
I was born with Moebius syndrome, which can cause limb differences. Not everyone with Moebius has limb differences. And even those of us who do, there’s such a spectrum. It’s pretty interesting, actually.
Some people have one limb difference, or two, or all four. Some have a hand that looks different. Some have just a foot or both feet that look different. Some people are missing all fingers on a hand, some just a few fingers, some have average looking hands, but they are much smaller hands.
Some people’s feet have webbed toes, some people’s feet are only partially developed, some have average looking feet but much smaller feet. It’s pretty cool, the variety of limb differences.
For me personally, I was born without fingers on my right hand, my left foot is small (girls size 2) and has webbed toes, and my right foot is only partially developed and is about half the size of my left foot.
Moebius Syndrome Awareness Day is just *two* days away – Saturday, January 24th!! Do you have your purple attire ready to wear? ![]()
