Rearranging my meditation area, I’m just feeling SO PROUD of myself and all the healing I’ve done! Because I’m healing, I will be a shining example of overcoming bullying, and that makes my heart so happy!
I put two books by my area too. Dumbo because he was also bullied for looking different, and then realized his difference was his super power!
And, Single Handedly by Ruth Rathblott, a woman with a limb difference like mine who wrote two books and is speaking around the country about accepting people’s differences, and disability awareness. I love that so much!
And then two significant photos of me. One when I was just born. I feel like people didn’t know what to think of me because I was so different. I feel like sometimes people still don’t know what to think of me when they see my differences. That’s why I’m teaching people how to treat me (and others with disabilities). Don’t fear us. Lean in. Get to know us! You might find out we aren’t so different after all!
The other photo is of me in 6th grade. That was the worst year ever I remember getting bullied. My healing is for this girl!!!! She deserves to be treated with LOVE and compassion and I will continue shouting that from the rooftops. For her. For everyone who has a difference and is getting bullied for it.
I hope to continue to write and speak more about my experiences, too. That’s *so healing*. Through sharing my experiences I can let other people know they are not alone and that they, too, can heal.
