Reframing Being Stared At

I’m watching a show on Netflix and there’s a woman who had some, what I thought looked like burns on her chest. I was so curious, I kept looking at them. She actually said that they were scars and that they were hereditary. I found that so interesting. I didn’t even know there was a hereditary condition like that!

It was a good reminder for my own life of reframing when people notice and stare at my limb difference. It’s likely often out of curiosity and fascination. They are likely not even thinking anything bad or that I’m less than. I think that’s a fear or overthinking on my part, that people might be thinking negatively about me, when they are probably just really fascinated. I know I wasn’t thinking negatively about the woman on the show. I thought it was just super interesting and I thought it made her more interesting as a person. 😊❤️❤️

Oh man, as I was taking a photo for this post I was totally having some fun and discovered my bathroom light looked so bright. Powerful. Love it! 😃💛
