I was born with facial paralysis and limb differences, and decided to write a note to my baby self….
You are Perfect
You were born perfect. Your face is perfect. Your limbs are PERFECT. Everything about you is perfect. As you grow up, people will bully you and make you feel shame for how you look. But it is them who should feel shame for their unkindness. There is nothing wrong with you and how you look. Something is wrong with them and their incorrect perceptions of you. Please, please don’t take their words to heart. You are perfect. You are a PERFECT DIVINE CREATION, perfectly formed. You were born perfect. Different. BEAUTIFUL. A beautiful representation that differences are made to be embraced and celebrated. What a boring world it would be if everyone looked the same. Differences are not meant to be shamed or ridiculed, and, sweet girl, you were born PERRECTLY to be able to convey that message to the world. Don’t for one second think you are not valuable because of how you look. You are not a mistake. You are not less than. You are every BIT as valuable as everyone else in this world. I love you. I love you so much. You ARE perfect. Know that. You are perfect and you have always been perfect. ![]()
