For most of my life
I have struggled with loneliness.
Loneliness gets in my head
And fills my mind with lies.
That it will always be this way
That I’ll always feel alone.
That no one else feels this way
And I am alone in my loneliness.
The more I thought about it,
The more I realized.
Loneliness is common
And I will no longer believe its lies.
We are more connected
Than we realize.
I feel lonely
Like you feel lonely.
Through our loneliness
We are connected.
My heart is beating
Like your heart is beating.
What a beautiful reminder
That we are, in fact, connected.
